Incremental backup offers speed and efficiency: since it records only the changes to your hard drive, it can record frequent system snapshots without harming system performance. Since backup points are only increments, or changes to a static image, they require far less disk space than multiple complete images.

Should something go wrong with your system, you can restore it to a named incremental backup point.
